Faculty of Biotechnologies

The Faculty of Biotechnologies offers a four years programme that provides highly skilled engineers in the areas of Agricultural, Industrial and Veterinary Medicine Biotechnology.

The main aim of the Faculty is training highly educated specialists, so the graduates could follow careers in research and development across bio-industries, covering industrial and agricultural production, services, and other industries.

In addition to the aforementioned undergraduate programs, the Faculty of Biotechnology also offers postgraduate programs of study, leading to Master of Science degree in the fields of „Biotechnologies and Food Safety”, „Biotechnologies in Environment Protection”, as well as „Modern Applications of Biotechnology in Agriculture” and the final degree is Biotechnology engineer. The faculty also organizes Doctoral studies in the field of Biotechnologies.

The Faculty houses modern and well equipped biotechnology laboratories, lecture rooms and libraries with recent technical - scientifically literature. The experienced staff consists of nationally and internationally recognized specialists, with outstanding achievements in both teaching and scientific research fields.

In addition to research activity, currently undertaken by our teachers, the Faculty owns two Research Centers: Biotehnol and Biotehgen. The research strategy was developed to meet the new challenges that Romanian education is constantly facing. As a result, in the last years our Faculty stood consistently on top of national competitions for research funds.

The Faculty of Biotechnologies has extensive links in both teaching and research areas with partner organizations such as Institute for Food Bioresources, National Institute for Chemical Pharmaceutical R&D, R&D Plant Protection Institute Bucureşti, National Agricultural R&D Institute Fundulea, which contribute to the improvement of the practical training of students, as well as updating curricula according to the labor market requirements.
